Bloemfontein Airport

bloemfontein-internationalBloemfontein Airport has a very limited international capacity and has in the past tended to handle local traffic from Johannesburg and Cape Town. It has been upgraded for the 2010 Fifa World Cup Tournament, which is a boon for South Africa as well as for Bloemfontein itself.

The Airport

This is the third largest major airport in South Africa and is the main hub for air traffic into and out of the Free State which is a land locked province. It is situated 8km east of the city on the Thaba Nchu Road. A annual passenger load of 400 000, mainly business visitors, pass through the airport utilizing 25 000 flights.
The airport has two runways.

Transport
