Catch an Ethical Bite with this Eco Seafood Guide

The World Wildlife Fund for Nature in SA has created a great pocket guide to “ethical eating” in South African seafood restaurants.

The guide, which you print out, fold up, and keep handy in wallets and purses, tells you which species are fished for sustainably in South African waters, which are in danger of being overfished, and which are on the point of collapse – and therefore shouldn’t feature in local menus or diners’ stomachs.

The WWF in SA has released the guide as part of its Sustainable Seafood Initiative, which aims, among other things, to shift consumer demand for fish away from threatened species.
