Review
Come and taste unforgettable African food at Ikhaya Restaurant in Khayelitsha township. The restaurant offers traditional African meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner – served with homemade gingerbeer. Guests are entertained with music, dancing and stories of South Africa’s chequered history. If you’ve got a big group, Ikhaya’s the perfect place to take them: it accepts bookings for up to 150 guests.

The Ikhaya restaurant (“ikhaya” means “home” in Xhosa) is not only an eating place but also a conference and activity center. It hosts formal functions like weddings and anniversaries, as well as less-formal occasions like corporate functions, seminars – and even press conferences! The space is also available for promotional events. Ikhaya’s owners do everything in accordance with your budget’s limitations.

All meals are buffet-style; dinner includes braaied meat and boerewors (sausage), steamed vegetables, salads and fruit. Emphasis is on cooking with indigenous ingredients and methods.
Once you taste a meal at Ikhaya, you will come back to your new eating-out “home” for more!
