Peter Mokaba Stadium Polokwane

Polokwane lies some 200km north of Johannesburg and in the gateway to the Limpopo province. Peter Makoba Stadium, named after past chairman of the ANC Youth League and deputy minister in the government of Nelson Mandela, is a custom built facility commissioned as part of the general preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2010 Tournament.

The Stadium

Peter Mokaba Stadium is situated a few miles south of the city on the site of older Pietersburg Stadium adjacent to the Polokwane Sports Club and the Polokwane Game Reserve. It will upon its completion have a 45 000 seating capacity, and is situated between the main N1 and R71 highways.

Polokwane is a small city and so access to and from the main hotel district and downtown precinct will be relatively easy. Polokwane offers access to Zimbabwe and Kruger National Park.
