Microbrew Lovers: Slake Your Thirst at Mitchell’s

The microbrewing craze has not caught on in South Africa as it has elsewhere in the world, but beer snobs in Cape Town can find some relief from this generally oppressive situation by taking a pint of Forrester’s Draft Ale or Bosun’s Bitter at Mitchell’s Scottish Ale House, V&A Waterfront. The pub brews its own beer, based on recipes from the original Mitchell’s Knysna Brewery (a separate operation which is still going strong).

At time of posting, the link to the Cape Town pub was unfortunately broken (click here from time to time to test if it’s working), but a quick call confirms that all is in working order where it counts the most – namely, keg hydraulics and bartenders’ elbows.
