13th MCQP: Mother City Queer Project – Comic/Strip.

The “Mother City Queer Project” has been running for 13 years now and this year’s theme is Comic/Strip. Which means you HAVE to dress up as either, a comic character or a comic character without his/her clothes on. No costume, no party those is the rules!.

The project is Cape Town’s answer to Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and the ensuing “sleaze ball” party. The venue this year is Ratanga Junction Theme park, which should be incredible. There will be thousands of people there and is sure to be a spectacle of spectacles. Entrance at the door is R350, so we know they are not shy, but you can save R100 by booking at computicket or ticketbitch ?. It runs from 8pm till dawn and if you not knackered then, there is an after party at the Opium complex in Greenpoint, from 4am till 4pm….zzzzzzzzzz

In case I didn’t get the message across, this is a decidedly gay event, but straights are welcome and are numerous. I have never been, but this year was given tickets, so I may get some colorful pictures for you, if they let me and my tatty mongoose costume in 🙂

There are tons of details on the MCQP page, including lineups, directions and more.
