Canal Walk and the V&A Waterfront: Tis the season to get trampled.

I started my Christmas shopping today and seemingly so did the rest of South Africa. Both the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk at Century City were full to the teeth and not just with Capetonians. Many Jo-burgers or Gautengers are here spending their banks hard earned money, not to mention the thousands of tourists. To keep the punters punting the malls are outdoing themselves with attractions and events. Here are a few of the highlights.

For your seasonal entertainment Canal Walk has constructed a faux ice rink made of Teflon and silicone, but has real Siberian huskies doing sleigh rides on it, Santa is there getting his picture taken.. again, and the new La Piazza Restaurant arena is now open. The V&A has the Ice Lounge, carved entirely out of ice. It looks amazing and chock full of revelers every night . Also at the Waterfront is a 40 meter snow ramp, for snowboarding, tobogganing, ice climbing, skating and snowman building. For the exhaustive list of what happening at the V&A click here, or here for Canal Walk.
