Countdown to the 2006 Cape Argus: Time Your Splits

Countdown: The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour is just 4 days away! (Counting today.)

To help you with your race preparation, Cape Argus Blog brings you a HANDY SPLIT CALCULATOR for the race route.

This is one of the neatest features on the Cape Argus’s home page. The split calculator is a map which divides the race route into nine legs, and gives the time you need to complete each leg to finish the race under a certain mark.

For instance, if you’re shooting to better 5 hours, then you need to cover the first leg, from the race’s start in the city center to the top of Edinburgh Drive (Wynberg Hill), in 33:28; and the eighth, most gruelling leg, from the top of Chapman’s Peak to the top of Suikerbossie, in 39:38.

The split calculator’s default setting is 3 hours, which is pretty fast going.
