Further Insight & Opinion
Komati Foods is a veritable emporium of all that’s healthily snackable, from raw cashew nuts to multi-colored mebos (pressed dried fruit). The store’s shelves are laden with goodies – including hard-to-find carob bars, wonderful homemade preserves, muesli, pasta and olive products – and owners Diane and Ivan Sabath strive to cater for all dietary strictures, stocking many organic, wheat-free, sugar-free and gluten-free products. All roasting is done on the premises, so anything that says “freshly roasted” means it!

Komati Foods is an essential pit stop before a walk, hike, flight or road trip. Not only does the shop make it on to SA Blog’s “Best of Cape Town” list, it also gets an extremely-rare and much-coveted Seal of Approval from Your Correspondent’s Lovely Assistant, famous for her parsimony with the adjective “snackalicious”. The shop also presents the perfect excuse to visit Observatory’s famous Lower Main Road (Map | SA Blog).

Note: Komati Foods makes free deliveries on orders over R150.
