SA Blog recommends a look inside? Definitely

Further Insight & Opinion
To my knowledge, the novel The Wizard of Obz has yet to be written – but if it’s out there, you’ve a good chance of finding inside the warm and cozy Obz Books, which offers nothing if not an eclectic selection of used reading material.

The contemporary literature section is particularly well-stocked, as are the bio and art shelves. The SA literature and poetry offerings comprise mostly the usual suspects, but the Africa travel section is surprisingly robust. Beware: don’t ask for a discount, or you’ll be met with a look that decidedly lowers the room temp.

Obz Books is on Observatory’s busy, interesting Lower Main Road, and keeps later-than-normal hours (i.e., stays open past 5 p.m.). It’s perfect for an hours’ browse after breakfast, say, at Mimi’s.
