The Polana is a restaurant/bar below the fantastic Harbor House. It claims to have a “Portuguese and Mozambican inspired menu” – but after our amazing dinner upstairs, we weren’t there to eat, we were there to drink.

And so, apparently, was everyone else. Unfortunately, the joint emitted a cumulative obnoxious vibe of loud voices, cigarette smoke and “bumping”. The masses had long since claimed any available seats on the couches and large armchairs.

Low tide subdued the legendary view of waves crashing up against the windows, so even that wasn’t a saving grace. Stop in for a drink, but don’t plan your whole night in this out-of-the-way place.
