Try a Café Mocha, an iced coffee, or a fresh zumo de naranja (orange juice for the non-Portuguese speaking). The sandwiches and muffins are equally as enticing, and the Lindt chocolates that are complementary with every purchase make a nice touch.

Review
Trendy-chic meets elitist ambition at Vida e Caffe. It has been called “the café of the beautiful people”, and on most occasions, a look inside certainly doesn’t disappoint.

Of course, where “inside” is relative, because Vida e Caffe boasts myriad locations throughout the city. All are quite similar: clean lines, light wood, and red stripes. Outside, white tables, postmodern red chairs, and tell-tale Vida parasols.

The café on Kloof Street is always full, continuously abuzz. Service is quick and the coffee – excellent. Try a Café Mocha, an iced coffee, or a fresh zumo de naranja (orange juice for the non-Portuguese speaking). The sandwiches and muffins are equally as enticing, and the Lindt chocolates that are complementary with every purchase make a nice touch.

Beyond the great coffee for which it is famous, the café boasts status: it’s home to those who want to see and be seen. (And there are plenty in Cape Town.)
