Budget Airline’s Specials Start Today

Alert! Interlink Airlines, South Africa’s youngest budget airline, has introduced two limited-time sale fares for the country’s busiest tourist routes.

You can now fly between Johannesburg International (JNB) and Kruger Mpumalanga (MQP) airports for just R299 (one-way), and between Cape Town International (CPT) and JNB for just R499.

The latter fare is less competitive for the former: you can often get one-ways on budget carrier 1-Time , for instance, from Cape Town to Joburg for less than R470. But the Joburg-Kruger fare is an outstanding bargain: ultimately, it means you can fly from Cape Town to Nelspruit (MQP’s city) and back for just R1600, just a few hundred rand north of half-price.

Flying into Nelspruit makes a visit to the Kruger National Park a cinch – no 4.5-hour drive from Joburg necessary. Interlink uses DC-9s to do the job, and has been operating in South Africa (mostly under the public’s radar) for more than two years.
