Snap Guide to the Cape Town Festival (Launch Tonight!)

Cape Town’s annual city festival – an amibitious, month-long series of music, film and performing arts events across a staggeringly large number of venues – starts moving and shaking tonight, with its official launch at the Artscape Theatre.

Highlight

  • This Friday’s “Night Vision” is undoubtedly the highlight for visitors to the city. It’s a thumping party that takes place primarily on the upper half of Long Street (above Wale Street). The street will be closed to traffic from about 5 p.m., and will fill up with thousands of foot-going revellers, who will dance the night away. Entrance is free, music is loud, safety is a priority, and most Long Street shops stay open for the event way past their bedtimes.
